Vives obtains the New Environmental Product Declaration

VIVES gets the latest version of its Environmental Product Declaration for the full range of its porcelain tiles. The environmental Product Declaration (DAP or EPD in English) is a document that provides in a transparent and verifiable manner, the normalized environmental information of the product, derived from its life-cycle assessment.

In 2010, Vives was a pioneer in Spain on having an Environmental Product Declaration of construction materials and now presents this new version, verified and registered within the Global EPD AENOR program.

DAP are especially important for the construction industry since the publication of the European Construction Products Regulation which says that, “for evaluating the sustainable use of resources and the environmental impact of construction should be used, where available, environmental product declarations”. Furthermore, an EPD provides essential information for markets and professionals with a great environmental sensitivity because it allows comparisons and allowing choice of the materials taking into account their environmental impact in order to design more sustainable buildings.
