The first VIVES sign

The sign of the first Vives Azulejos y Gres factory located in Avenida Castellón of L’Alcora, is formed by approximately 1,270 tiles of 15x15 cm size. These tiles were made by Third Fire technique, a method that was beginning to be used more extensively in the early 50s to decorate the tiles. In addition, the original logo and first distinctive of the company, Azulejos Vives S.L., was painted by hand directly over the tile by a local ceramic artist; this involves artisan labour that has remained intact since 1957.
