Box Café

Chania, Crete

The Strand porcelanic wood effect produced by VIVES is the protagonist of this cafe located in the Mediterranean city of Chania, Crete. The design of this project guarantees a warm, dynamic and functional space perfect for meeting friends and family.

Inspired by the peculiar OSB (Oriented Strand Board) aesthetic, Strand porcelanic wood in its rectified version (59,3x59,3 cm.) with natural colour covers the surfaces of the entire cafeteria with characteristic textures and patterns that convey naturalness and freedom to the area.

The choice of warm colours (grey, cement, white, hazel and blue) combined alternatively create unique effects on both walls and floor. Also the exterior facade of the establishment has this same original aesthetic.

All this, together with its privileged situation in a corner building that allows a lot of light results in an original, coherent and functional cafe space full of consistency and functionality designed to relax peacefully.
