Chronology
As our productive activity and presence in the market have consolidated over time, our environmental commitment has equally evolved and grown:
1982
The Azulejos Vives I plant (the first plant in operation for the VIVES group) adapts its facilities to change fuel from combustible fuel to natural gas in the kilns and ceramic dryers, which was a cleaner and more environmentally friendly fuel.
1991
The first cogeneration station is put into operation at the Azulejos Vives II plant, capable of satisfying the calorific needs of the clay atomization section and, at the same time, producing electricity to supply the entire plant.
1992
After the great results were obtained, the second cogeneration plant of the same power is put into operation in plant 1 of Cerámica Vives.
2000
Ferraes Cerámica begins its activity with the incorporation of a treatment plant that allows the recycling of water from the rectification and polishing processes.
2006
Cerámica Vives takes part in Emissions Trading.
2008
Cerámica Vives obtains its Integrated Environmental Authorisation (IEA).
Ferraes Cerámica puts into operation its facilities for the production of tiles, which incorporates the latest technology in reducing atmospheric and acoustic emissions.
2010
Ferraes Cerámica obtains its Integrated Environmental Authorisation (IEA).
Preparation and certification of the first Environmental Product Declaration (DAP) for the range of porcelain tile models (Level III Ecolabel according to ISO standards), under the DAPc programme of the College of Surveyors and Technical Architects of Barcelona.
2011
First Certification of Content in Recycling of ceramic tiles (Ecolabel category II according to ISO standards).
Creation of the EcoVIVES website as a communication channel for our environmental actions.
2013
Entry into the Emission Trading of Ferraes Cerámica and Azulejos Vives.
2015
Update of the Environmental Product Declaration (DAP) for porcelain tiles (Level III Ecolabel according to ISO standards), now under the AENOR Glogal EPD program.
2020
Development of products with high recycled content and antibacterial behaviour.
2022
Certification according to the ISO 14001 standard of the Environmental Management System of our production, logistics and administrative centers.
